2. Description of Service

PixBlur provides:

• Manual Editor: A canvas-based tool for manually redacting sensitive information from images
• AI Redaction: Automated redaction of text and faces using third-party AI providers (e.g., Google Gemini)
• Batch Processing: Process multiple images in batches with AI-assisted detection

The editor experience is designed for desktop browsers. Mobile and tablet devices may be redirected away from editor routes. Manual editing runs locally in your browser. If you choose to use AI features, your image will be uploaded for processing and shared with third-party AI providers. PixBlur does not store your original images as user content in its database as part of the AI redaction feature, but we do store account, billing, and operational metadata needed to operate the Service.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of PixBlur, you must create an account using an OAuth provider (for example, Google). You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Credits and Payments

Credit System

PixBlur uses a credit-based system for AI redaction features. Each AI redaction operation consumes 1 credit.

• Some accounts may receive a one-time registration bonus (5 credits)
• Additional credits can be purchased through our pricing packs
• Credits are non-transferable and non-exchangeable
• Credits do not expire while the Service remains available
• Credits have no cash value outside of the refund policy

Pricing

Before Account Deletion

• If you have purchased credits remaining in your account, you may need to request a refund (or use them) before you can delete your account
• Free signup bonus credits (5 credits) are not eligible for refund and do not prevent account deletion

5. Refunds

We offer refunds for unused purchased credits. Refunds are processed through our payment provider (Stripe) and are subject to fraud prevention controls and applicable payment processor rules.

Eligibility

• Purchased credits: Refundable only for the unused portion (remaining credits)
• Bonus or promotional credits: Not refundable
• Used credits: Not refundable

How Refund Amounts Are Calculated

Refunds are calculated pro-rata based on the unused credits in the original credit pack purchase. Amounts are rounded down to avoid over-refunding.

Note: Free signup bonus credits (5 credits) are not eligible for refund. Refund timing depends on your payment method and financial institution.

Refund Abuse Prevention

We may limit or deny refunds in cases of suspected fraud or abuse (for example, excessive refund requests in a short period).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PixBlur to:

• Process images containing illegal content, including but not limited to child exploitation material
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
• Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Service ("scraping")
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
• Abuse the registration bonus system by creating multiple accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

7. AI Service Limitations

Our AI redaction features are provided "as is" and may not achieve 100% accuracy. You acknowledge that:

• AI redaction may miss some sensitive information or produce false positives
• You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI suggestions before exporting
• PixBlur is not liable for any sensitive information that remains visible after processing

For critical privacy needs, we recommend using the manual editor in combination with AI redaction and carefully reviewing the final result.

8. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain all rights to images you upload and process through PixBlur. We do not claim any ownership of your content.

Our Service: PixBlur, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our Service without prior written consent.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PIXBLUR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to PixBlur in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PixBlur, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you upload or process through the Service

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the account settings. Upon termination:

• Your account will be deactivated with a 7-day recovery period
• After the recovery period, we will permanently delete or anonymize personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, and we may retain certain records where required (for example, for legal or accounting compliance)
• Unused purchased credits may be refunded upon request

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for violations of these Terms.

14. Disputes

If you have a dispute or concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
